suffice to say my son was really chuffed with his name in 5 foot high letters .

(i was going to write his full name , Edwin but realised just in time that i was going to run out of garden !)

a bit dizzy

a lot of storyboard panels for one shot but sometimes there's no way round it .taken from Tarzan 2 . zugor flees as his tree is trashed by rogue gorillas.its kind of how i felt after watching England win against t 'n' t yesterday . very much the great escape !!

Lucy's shoes

Lucy’s shoes


Lucy’s new shoes were so big
She had the biggest shoes.
Her shoes were so very pink
Lucy’s new shoes were big news.

She wore the new shoes all day,
She wore them in bed all night.
She always wore the new shoes.
Lucy’s new shoes were just right.

Lucy showed off her new shoes
And all her friends loved them too.
Her shoes were the shoes they’d choose
If their feet were size twenty-two.

Then one day the shoes came off
As Lucy walked down the street
Which wasn’t surprising really
Because Lucy had very small feet !

So the shoes went back to the shop
And replaced with shoes the right size
You can’t wear shoes ten sizes too big
If they’re pink and up to your thighs!

So Lucy no longer has big shoes
And it came as quite a big shock,
It’s not so much the size of your feet
It’s all about the size of your sock!

land of the dead arrive

i found these beat boards whilst having a hard drive clear out . they were drawn to present ideas for the sequence when the land of the dead arrive in the land of the living during the wedding party banquet .some didn't make it into the final film . i think it was a pity that Barkis never got to eat a slice of maggoty wedding cake !

don't get lippy !

Ok don't get lippy - I know i haven't posted anything for weeks . Its just that i have been working 7 days a week and have not had the energy to blog - I'll get my life back soon and I'll be right back on the case .... promise . I know you only come here via Uli's site anyway . you don't really care about me .... oh why do I bother !!

valentines' day

This is the Valentines' card i drew for my wife, Selena ( yes Gary i know - only if you're sure !) I'm not sure how romantic it is but it made her laugh . Edwin has assumed the character of powerman recently and using his drumstick of power along with his glasses of power he can hover about 3 feet off the ground ( using the dad of power as his sidekick !) my little girl ,Delila is the one with the real powers obviously. .

If you look carefully you will see hearts dotted around the picture . The exact amount will show how many years we have been a couple . answers next blog .

Batman Break

You know how it is . You just need to have a break from what you are drawing for a living . i used to have Hulk breaks on Corpse Bride ( skeletons to muscles !) its Batman now........ok back to work.

Wallace and gromit

Sorry to anyone who has been checking out my blog and found nothing new of any interest for a long time . In fact nothing new for a long time since last year ! I have been very, very, very busy on a top secret project( that all my friends know about) working on an h.d. anamatic as part of the pitch to get the movie of the first book of 'his dark materials' trilogy by Philip Pullman green lit . The presentation was really top end and if I had a couple of hundred million I would want to make the film . Its early days but things look promising.
Why the Wallace and Gromit storyboards I hear you ask ? Good question ....Both of you ! I drew this as a test to get involved in the movie based on a few pages of early script. I ended up on Corpse Bride , the rest is history .
so there was a loose connection with the two things ....Just about .
