Happy Halloween
We made a pumpkin lantern this weekend . I said to my little boy ," would you like to design it first ?" . These are the faces he came up with . Children's drawings are just the best .
( ruined by me in photoshop - sorry Edwin )

shave and a hair cut- 2 bits ....fall off !
A few more Corpse Bride boards . The two above are of Victor's attempt to escape the Land of the Dead but to no avail .
Early boards of victor staggering into the land of the dead barber shop .There was no specific script for these scenes which allowed myself and the other board artists freedom to come up with ideas and to stage things how we saw it . A lot of fun .

corpse bride storyboards
Here is a little selection of the boards i drew for Corpse Bride . As you can appreciate posting a whole sequence would be time consuming for me as i can't work out how to post them on mass ( i tried last night for 3 hours and couldn't get them to run in sequence - they shouldn't let me near computers !) . it would also be a bit tedious to look at after you've viewed the first few.
Anyhoo , i've picked out some early ones that i subsequently redrew many times . this sequence snippet is when victor arrives in the land of the dead ( in the town square and not in the pub as he does in the film )

Corpse bride
Hi to everyone,
well its been a long time coming but I have finally got my act together and posted stuff on my blog. All my friends seem to have turned into blogaholics . Matt Jones is a blogaholic and Uli is definitely a blogaholic. So its my round . But they always say that!
for nearly two years I worked as one of about six storyboard artists on Tim Burton's corpse bride film . That may seem a long time to spend boarding a 77 minute film .....and it was .
Story development never goes in a straight line but I think it is safe to say this went through a particularly twisty ,curly ,Tim Burtony route before we ended up with the film you see in the cinema today .During a six week period early in the production 'story' was halted whilst rewrites took place . So the art dept. asked whether we could paint some portraits and landscapes that could be used on the model sets. So I jumped at the chance . Some were used in the film and some weren't .
Thanks for looking at my blog and don't forget to go and see the corpse bride so that we can make more movies in London !
